Steve D As cheesy as it sounds. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Robert B If you read between the lines and prayers for help are in place, the Lord sends Chad Everett and Ed Sullivan to save the day! They open closed doors and cut through the red tape and frowns! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Innocuous MGM musical hearkens back to the good old days with cast members Ricardo Montalban, Greer Garson, Agnes Moorehead and Debbie Reynolds in the title role; mostly fictional, but reprises Sister Souere's greatest hit, "Dominque." Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member ***QUAINT IDEA FOR A MOVIE IS, NUNTHELESS, HOLLYWOOD NUNSENSE*** Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Debbie Reynolds is the highlight of this movie. Cute songs and interesting side plots fill the background for this movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I wanted to like it more than I actually did, but I honestly found it dull. It's a biopic, but there wasn't much of an exciting story to make a whole movie out of. The songs are pleasant, but none of them were standouts or memorable. Pauline Kael McCall's The Singing Nun will make you realize how good Fred Zinnemann’s The Nun’s Story was. Although the theme, the conflict and even the story line are similar, The Singing Nun reduces them to smiles, twinkles, banalities and falseness. Sep 20, 2023 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Debbie Reynolds, then in her second and last popularity phase, plays the titular role in this unbearably cloying, poorly scripted musical melodrama, trying to cash in on the success of The Sound of Music.
