Audience Says

Ryan Coogler has not only delivered a deliciously vicious vampire hit, but an unapologetically Black genre knockout ablaze with a killer cast and a cranked-up score.

Sergio Burstein Los Angeles Times Coogler constantly dazzles us with a soaring visual display that takes its time developing long, inspired takes, elevating the legacy of traditional blues, and isn't afraid of moments of frank sexuality. [Full review in Spanish] Aug 12, 2025 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) This is a story told through its music, and it's so well done. May 7, 2025 Full Review Adam Kempenaar Filmspotting Sinners is a redemption movie, a revenge movie with elements of Blaxploitation, and certainly a red-blood-soaked horror movie; it’s also deeply romantic and has the rhythms and audaciousness of some of our boldest musicals. Rated: 4.5/5 May 2, 2025 Full Review Chris Tait Tait's Take (YouTube) Between doing all my research to make this video, and watching it a second time, I see it now that this movie is excellent. And by far the best movie of 2025. Mel If I could rate it higher I would! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/25 Full Review Qfuturistic W Everything and more! From visuals to story telling Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/25 Full Review Hallie One of the most fun, entertaining and thrilling movies I’ve ever seen in my life. I saw it twice in theaters and would’ve seen it tons more if I could. Ryan Coogler has a way of totally immersing you into the world that it’s such a fun ride just getting to know the characters. And THAT scene that everyone talks about is single-handedly the most creatively moving scene I’ve ever experienced! I have never felt such a wave of pride and belonging and some other incomprehensible feeling that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to describe. It’s a fun, scary vampire flick and also a beautiful, beautiful love letter to Black culture and Black music. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/25 Full Review Rahshem Upshaw What can I say I have never witnessed anything like this, LOVE IT Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/25 Full Review Dashara Everything about this movie was breathtaking.
