TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Aug 22, 2026 Slaughterhouse Rulez took far too long to get to where it needed to go, and that became the biggest problem for me. The movie spends so much time taking unnecessary steps toward the actual plot that I found myself wondering when the story was finally going to start. The screenplay felt overly long and unnecessarily complicated. Instead of creating anticipation, the constant buildup eventually became exhausting. There were several moments where I felt the movie was losing me completely, and by the time the story finally started moving, I was already close to wanting to turn it off. The frustrating part is that there are some recognizable and talented actors involved, but even their presence couldn’t overcome the problems with the writing and pacing. The movie needed to get to its central conflict much faster and give the audience a stronger reason to stay invested. Ultimately, Slaughterhouse Rulez was not a film that worked for me. Overall, Slaughterhouse Rulez is a watchable but middle-of-the-road horror film that works best as light entertainment rather than memorable horror. Like the school house itself, you are not supposed to take it that serious, what with all the rules, and "hiearchy" -- the film makes fun of it in such funnily haunting way, comparable to simon pegg's other movies and stranger things as a mash up, what a great jolly fun to watch! 5 stars!
