As ambitious District Attorney Ford Cole (Ray Liotta) prepares for his mayoral bid, he faces conflicting stories surrounding a man's death. Shelved for over a year, this incompetent mystery thriller stops periodically so some character or other can deliver an expository speech and pull the plot back on track, but by the end the story has turned into a hair ball.

This mystery takes its title too seriously, especially the slow part. The first 2/3 of the movie moves at a glacial pace. By the time it kick starts in the final 1/3, you really don't much care how it ends. There are so many turns fit into that last few scenes it nearly makes your head spin. The story does come together in a manner that makes sense, it just takes way to long to get there to make it worthwhile.
