Giving leeway for a low budget, independent LGBT film, "Slutty Summer" is decent. The acting's not great, but good enough for what it is. Decent story. Acceptable script. Great performance by Director and actor Casper Andreas and Jesse Archer. Overall one of the better LGTB film that it is very cliche, but it knows its limitation and it is sweet and honest. Its not easy so bravo zulu for putting forth the effort which is more than just dream about being in the movies or making films..This charming indie examines the romantic situations of some actors, models, and waiters in New York City's Chelsea district. At the center of things is Markus (writer-director Casper Andreas) a brokenhearted gay writer whose straight female friend, Marilyn (Virginia Bryan) gets him a summer job at the garden restaurant where she works, and where she's the only one who isn't an attractive single gay male. Soon he soon falls under the tutelage of the gleefully promiscuous Luke (Jesse Archer) who recommends spending the summer sleeping around as a surefire heartbreak cure. He does, but then Markus falls for Tyler (Jamie Hatchett), the dreamboat Welsh model on the staff, and things get even more complicated..If this is Andreas' first film I congratulate him because he has created witty characters and so believable...a clever and funny script and a good portrayal of a fast-paced restaurant work..It definitely engaged me and I recommend it! Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Alright, this film is no stroke of brillaince, starting right from the campy title, but for a low-budget gay film about a young man dealing with a break-up, it's not all that bad. Casper Andreas, writer, director, and actor-trying-to-sound-American-despite-being-Swedish, is not the best actor, nor are those he surrounds himself with, but as far as silly gay movies with loads of references to sex go, this is not a terrible film. A simple story of a man who catches his boyfriend in a compromising position and then takes a job as a waiter to be able to survive, both financially and emotionally, meeting a crew of cliched gay men and an atypical fag hag who gelp get him through a summer in New York.
