B B Aug 12 This movie has a few things that I would like to tighten, but it's hard to place on what it is, where it is. It does what it needs to do. A cop got wrapped up in the wrong thing, tries to make amends, and fix his life, but the corruption in the world didn't disappear when he went to prison. Either he beats the corruption or the corruption beats him. People lower the reviews, but it's unwarranted. The ending is great. It is dark and everything goes to crap. There aren't any loose ends. It's dark and depressing, but full of a dose of reality. Despite our best efforts and best intentions in turning our lives around and making amends, things don't always have to work out. We don't always get a second chance. That's real life. Not your typical predictable and boring ending. Full of twists and turns. Keeps you engaged. Low budget which makes it refreshing, because the actors have to actually act well and not hide behind expensive special effects and CGI. Every actor did a good job. The sense of depression, the bitterness, hate and despair, with just a few moments of hope and a gentle romance. I liked the absence of big-budget explosions or shoot-outs, and even the very bleak ending worked well.
