What Worked: MacLane’s blocking of the ball pit creates a claustrophobic set that makes the identity-swap feel like a genuine heist. Buzz returning to sponsor Mini Buzz is a beautiful reminder of Methodist grace: true fellowship means actively walking alongside the abandoned. Plus, Jane Lynch’s voice direction and Jackman’s score give the therapy scenes a vibrant, energetic flow. The Cuts: The narrative at Bonnie’s house really dragged for me; figuring out the imposter so fast stalls the tension. The support group gag gets repetitive with rapid-fire intros, so the joke doesn’t really get to breathe. Keeping it spoiler-free, the resolution feels abrupt because it cuts right past Buzz’s actual escape payoff. Verdict: A clever mini-adventure letting forgotten toys shine. Perfect for nostalgic laughs, but skip if you need deep storytelling. See more 11/02/2021 My personal favourite of the Toy Story Toons, Small Fry (a.k.a. literally the only reason I went to see The Muppets in cinemas) is a fun, humourous cartoon with its fair share of inside jokes and Easter eggs for obscure Disney properties that I also found relatable as to how things were back in my youth when I wanted one specific Happy Meal toy.
