Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) It's not the most original film of recent years... [but] it uses a familiar box of tricks rather well. Jan 3, 2024 Full Review Scott Tobias The Reveal (Substack) Finn uses the strength of his conceit to turn the screws, raising tension through the Ring-like timeline Rose faces and the sheer relentlessness of her supernatural tormentor. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 19, 2022 Full Review Victoria Luxford BBC.com If you want something that will make you jump out of your seat, this is very effective, but for me the story just didn't come together. Rated: 2/5 Nov 3, 2022 Full Review Brittany Patrice Witherspoon Pop Culture Reviews Finn wrote a simple and derivative script and directed the hell out it with Smile. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 25, 2024 Full Review Tamma Moksha The Hindu Despite some of its missteps, the horror film’s theme of inheriting mental illness and walking down a path that you have lived dreading all your life is poignant. Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy If the sight of a person grinning like an idiot is enough to unnerve you, then you might well be the target audience for Smile -- me, I’ll stick with Jack Nicholson’s Joker for my maniacal grimaces. Rease Enjoyed this movie , decent jump scares , plot and ending . Overall in my opinion good horror movie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review quentin s bad need to watch with friends Id your going to see this Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Joshua Fairly creepy and effective scares. Acting was solid all around, and I thought the effects were done well. There were two reasons I marked it down. First, even though I liked it, I can't say I'm going to sit down and watch again anytime soon. Second, without spoiling anything, I can come up with 3 movies that had a simple premise and I kind of got the ending I was expecting even though they did try to misdirect you. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Griz Smile was a creepy good time! Definitely one of the best 2022 horror films. Sosie Bacon performance was amazing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/08/23 Full Review Paul M This was one of the better horror movies in the last few years Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/23 Full Review Isis The only thing I disliked was that I went by myself Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/17/22 Full Review Read all reviews
