Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/25/25 Full Review Stephen C Garbage in just 1 hour and 25 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/25 Full Review Matthew S If you love Buford T justice then this is the movie for you! Proper funny Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/14/25 Full Review Blu B It's literally the the plot of the other 2 repeated and having no idea how to flesh things out or add a new twist. The end result is an absolute mess. The humor is just terrible. The music isn't good and is so focused on trying to make you remember the good times of the franchise with it's lyrics. Gleason is alright here and just doing his thing but everyone else my god is terrible. The wheels come flying off this pretty early on. where the second had a problem of too much humor this overcorrects and has way to much action in it. It feels so mindless and dumb but without any of the balance, charm, or energy of the first. It's just stupidity and bizarre stunts that make no sense. The story is just beyond stupid a setup to recreate the first and somehow forgets about the plot most of the time. Horrifcally bad editing, atrocious pacing and terrible everything else. Skip This. #DeathRattleofthefranchise Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review Gabriel M I don't ever want to sit through this entire film after seeing enough clips on YouTube (despite checking out the DVD from my library). The only part worth even glancing at is Burt Reynolds' brief appearance at the end - and that's it. Everything else is a disaster. The most offensive thing about this sequel is the inappropriate content. There are scenes that show fully naked women, and I find it shocking that this movie was given a PG rating. That rating is completely undeserved. With nudity on screen, this movie absolutely should have been rated R - the same way the previous two films probably should have been, given their heavy use of cussing. By allowing this one to stay PG, the studio misled families into thinking it was kid-friendly entertainment, when in reality it's anything but. And it's not only the studio's fault - it's also the MPAA's for signing off on such a rating. This shows how corrupted and careless the MPAA has been in handling movie ratings, failing to take the sensitivity of films seriously. Sadly, that same problem still happens even today, with movies often receiving the wrong ratings for their content. For a franchise that started as lighthearted fun, this sequel ends up being the kind of nightmare no young Smokey and the Bandit fan - whether a kid or a teenager - should ever stumble across. Jackie Gleason is also difficult to watch here. From the trailer alone, I felt like he was forced or pressured into making this film. His voice at the beginning already sounded as if it was deteriorating, and some of the scenes - like him trying to jump around - only highlighted the toll his health issues had taken on him by that point in his life. Instead of allowing him to shine with the sharp wit and timing that made him a legend, the movie squandered what he had left. It's sad, because so much of his talent was wasted in the last few years of his life due to not living a healthy lifestyle, and this sequel is a painful reminder of that. On top of that, what little I've seen makes it obvious that the film is poorly made in every possible way. The energy, the humor, and the charm of the first movie are long gone. What's left is an embarrassing mess that drags the name of the franchise down even further. My rating: 1/10. If you value the original Smokey and the Bandit (1977), do yourself a favor and skip this one entirely. It's not just a weak sequel - it's one that never should've been made.
