Audience Member Could have done without this one. Stick to the first teo Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/22 Full Review ClassicGuy57 Just awful. The fact that the two main actors (Burt Reynolds and Sally Field) already led to disappointment before I even laid eyes on the film. All this movie was was for Buford to catch the Bandit (who ended up being Jerry Reed) and realize that without Bandit, his life was meaningless. I don't recommend it. Don't bother wasting 1 hour and 30 minutes with this movie. If you want to watch something good that's that has the same running time, just watch the first Smokey and the Bandit. You're guaranteed to be entertained. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/13/22 Full Review Audience Member I thought Smokey 3 was a fun, enjoyable film and I thought Jackie Gleason gave a great performance as Buford T Justice, I also thought Junior was at his funniest in this film, Smokey 3 is worth watching if you're a fan of Buford T Justice and Junior, I thought Cledus aka Snowman was annoying as the Bandit and I preferred him as the Snowman, I also thought the Enos's were annoying and they got on my nerves quickly. At least this movie flowed better than Part 2 due to it having more laughs and chases. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Tried to watch .. wow .. is that bad . Watched as a kid too but wasn’t too memorable Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/20/20 Full Review Audience Member I appreciate how game Jerry Reed is and Gleason is still hilarious as ever here, but a lot of the fun is sucked out by not getting Reynolds and Field back. Turning it into a straight up cartoon doesn't help its case either. I wish we could've got the fabled original cut where Smokey IS the Bandit... Something tells me it could've been great... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/20 Full Review Audience Member Might be worse than the second movie. They should have just stopped after the second one because clearly Burt Reynolds did not care about doing a third movie after the disaster that was Smokey and the Bandit 2. Originally Jackie Gleason was supposed to play both Smokey and the Bandit but due to poor test screenings they re shot with Jerry Reed as the Bandit but even that could not save the film. Burt Reynolds went to film The Cannonball Run movies which are much better films than anything in this "sequel." Burt Reynolds does have a cameo at the end which is the best part of the movie but Burt Reynolds did not look like he wanted to be there and was probably paid more for that one cameo than Jackie Gleason and Jerry Reed put together. Janet Maslin New York Times Mr. Reynolds is gone, and whatever was enjoyable about the ''Smokey'' formula went with him. Jun 17, 2015 Full Review Variety Staff Variety The sense of fun in that original is missing and the countless smashups and near-misses are orchestrated randomly. Feb 23, 2012 Full Review Scott Bowles Austin Chronicle Lowry, Birnbaum, and Dasheu are really unfortunate they weren't making movies 45 years ago; they could have done real well for themselves making two-reel comedies for Joseph Goebbels. Rated: 0/5 Sep 3, 2011 Full Review People Staff People Magazine The road scenes are routine. Even the vehicles aren't appealing. In the name of decency, spare us another Smokey. Jul 15, 2019 Full Review Sky Staff Sky Cinema Gleason remains as funny as ever at the centre of this patchwork of arbitrary mayhem. Jun 17, 2015 Full Review TV Guide This film doesn't even have the basic narrative coherence of the first two, and it rambles about aimlessly with little humor or action. This is commercial filmmaking at its very worst. Jun 17, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews
