Nell Minow RogerEbert.com It’s clearly told from the heart and as exhilarating as putting on a new pair of kicks. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Courtney Howard Variety Though its situational conflicts skew young and far too basic for tweens and adults, there’s enough thematic resonance for kiddos to connect with. Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Manuel Betancourt FilmWeek (LAist) I just kept wondering how any of this makes sense. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue This animated adventure is quirky and mildly charming, but there’s not much of a compelling story to tie everything together. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies Sneaks looks as shoddy as its story plays. Rated: 1/4 Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru A mildly amusing, but often dull, witless, lazy and unfunny animated adventure that doesn't even remotely hold a candle to the classic Pixar movies. Chris Paul lover There are not enough stars in the universe to measure even a fraction of Sneaks’ greatness. When I entered, the theater was so packed that I was afraid of being trampled. The music and sound made by MUSTARDDDDD in this movie was simply divine, elegant, and moving. My favorite part of the movie was when the characters all said in unison, “Together… we are SNEAKS!”. We all shot up from our seats at the climax and cheered in excitement. The voice acting was incredible and I could hear the fires of inspiration burning inside the actor’s voices. It brought me to tears. It was like the voice actors were born for the role. Their lines felt so natural and the effort they put in made it feel like i was having a conversation with them. Overall, sneaks was a genuine work of art and one of the most beautifully crafted movies I have ever had the honor of watching. This is better than pulp fiction, the notebook, and gone with the wind combined. I will forever be impacted by this movie and will continue to tell its story for generations. #WEARESNEAKS #MYSNEAKSCANDOANYTHING Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review scott w I didn’t think that the concept of talking shoes could be dumber. I was wrong. This movie is dog water. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review Lizbeth Moreno I liked the movie a lot! I just didnt like the theater. Its old and dirty. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review H I This movie was magical this movie is the reason I was born my whole life was like standing up and when I watch this movie I sat down for the first time Amazing also My sneaks can do anything ( This is not as a joke really like the movie) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review HameZz O This is the most skibidi movie I've ever seen. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/19/25 Full Review SkyRo P "Sneaks," an animated feature set to release in 2025, features the voices of Anthony Mackie and Martin Lawrence. The plot revolves around two sneakers named Ty and Max, who possess the ability to talk. Unfortunately, they become separated and embark on a quest to reunite. However, the film's narrative is awkward and relies heavily on cheesy and eccentric elements, particularly the subplot involving a collector and a forger. It feels designed for a niche audience rather than a film that appeals to a wider demographic. The animation quality leaves much to be desired; the sneakers lack the high-end appeal one would expect and instead resemble generic items one might find in a thrift store. The same can be said for the human characters, whose designs are rough and unpolished. The supposed main character, a young boy, suffers from particularly poor facial animation, making it difficult to connect with his character. Overall, "Sneaks" feels more like a marketing ploy for sneaker brands than a well-crafted film. I found myself considering leaving the theater multiple times, as it failed to provide an enjoyable experience. I suspect this film will struggle to find an audience and will quickly fade from memory once it moves to streaming platforms within a year and a half.
