Erik Triggs (Sam Jones III) is a good-natured Philadelphia teen and aspiring rapper who works at a hip-hop record label. There he hangs with rising superstar Prolifik (Nelly) during the day and works on his own music after hours. However, when Prolifik is kidnapped and his unreleased album is stolen, the record label's sleazy owner, Bobby Starr (Dean Winters), assumes Erik and his friend Malik (Mpho Koaho) are responsible. The two soon find themselves on the run.
