In this unique documentary, Claude Lanzmann refutes two cliches: that the Jews had no inkling of what awaited them in the gas chambers, and that they went to their deaths without resistance. The full title of the film, "Sobibor, Oct. 14, 1943, 4 p.m.," refers to the place and time when Jewish prisoners in the Sobibor extermination camp staged a successful uprising, the only one, against the Nazi captors.

Audience Member Sobibor is a dark movie, which, given the topic, it should be. This movie has intensity and more mature topics. I recommend Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member :rotten: Sobibor rebelion seems to be an interesting and gripping true story, filmed and done in a painfully boring and terrible way. The director intended to do a documentary but it doesn't have the quality to be such thing and it cannot be considered as a film either, I would define this "nightmare" with the word "lecture". If the director had wanted to make a good movie, he would have hired a scripter to write a good story based on the interview he previously did to the holocaust' survivor. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Lanzmann is the opposite of Michael Moore in his technique, doesn't batter you over the head but slowly and inexorably and subtly convinces Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
