10/21/2024 Movie of the Week drek! Stella Stevens is atrocious, Telly Savalas and Ricardo Montalban ham it up. Original title: Sol Madrid, after the protagonist played by pretty boy David McCallum. Hutton directed this solid if unspectacular international crime film. David McCallum plays an undercover narcotics agent who's out to convince a hit man to testify against a major drug kingpin. It's nothing you haven't seen before, but it's well done and has a strong supporting cast that includes Stella Stevens, Telly Savalas, Ricardo Montalban, Rip Torn (as a terrific villain), Pat Hingle and Perry Lopez.
