Todd (Kurt Russell) has been trained since birth, through brutal conditioning, to be an emotionless killing machine. After 40 years, Todd and his comrades are deemed obsolete when Col. Mekum (Jason Isaacs) promotes a new breed of genetically flawless soldiers. Discarded on the trash-covered planet of Arcadia 234, Todd is rescued by colonists Mace (Sean Pertwee) and Sandra (Connie Nielsen) -- but he's soon forced to face his stronger replacements when the military seeks to wipe out the colony.

For those who can’t miss out on a 90s sci-fi action film, Soldier is probably for you. But for those who like their stories fresh and to make some sense, you can skip this one and maybe go back to a Kurt classic instead.

Soldier finally deserves a reappraisal. The Kurt Russell starrer is actually a hugely entertaining and visually arresting piece of science fiction cinema – at the centre of it is a bold performance from Russell – one in which he only speaks 104 words.

…while humour is sorely lacking in Soldier, the brutalist sci-fi tone holds throughout, and it’s easy to get behind Todd’s stubborn unwillingness to be thrown out with the trash…

Resgatado por uma comunidade pacífica, Todd tenta coexistir... mas sua natureza não permite. Ele não pertence à guerra. Mas também não pertence à paz. E quando o passado retorna na forma de destruição, ele precisa decidir: continuar sendo uma máquina... ou finalmente se tornar humano. ⭐ Nota final: 5 / 10.

I thought this movie was touching. The heavy sadness in Russell's eyes had a quality that I felt. I like sci-fi, not a big romance fan. I don't know how a proper romance is supposed to grab the emotions. That said, I was mesmerized by Russell's silent performance, it had a romance-like feeling.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom
