Synopsis
This expansive French drama follows the lives of families living in the countryside over the course of decades, beginning in the late 19th century and extending well into the 20th century. The Gravet and Dauchy clans are central to the tale, with outsider Jules Ternolain (Claude Bouchery) also factoring into the multi-generational story. As the years go by, the characters must contend with numerous changes, big and small, most notably resistance to the Germans during World War II.
