Receptionist Angela (Paz Vega) begins dating Joaquin (Sergi López), her superior at the advertising agency where she works, and it feels like an eternal love. They are soon married, but, after Angela gets pregnant, the passion of their relationship turns to conflict. One night, Joaquin strikes Angela, beginning a cycle of abuse and reconciliation.
