Audience Member I'd like to say that this was a very early piece of work from Oxide Pang but this film was done only one year before his film The Eye. It's night and day in terms of technical prowess and storytelling. Where The Eye is superbly frightening One Take Only seems amateur in comparison. Pang's use of silly music numbers (though I did enjoy the songs) seemed completely out of place. They were poorly done and didn't add anything to the film. I'd say this would be Pang's version of Trainspotting but comparing the two would be a diservice to the great Danny Boyle film. Both films combine music, drugs, violence and sex to form the basis of their film but where Trainspotting does it intelligently, One Take Only just seems to throw it in a blender without any concept of the end product. The basic story of One Take Only is ok. It's nothing special but it is still enjoyable if not somewhat predictable. I wouldn't recommend the film but if you're looking for something in this genre, you could do much worse. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Pang over uses flashy editing and camera angles and the soundtack is very annoying. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Basic and simple storyline and plot showing a slice of Thai underclass. I thought Pom was played perfectly and the movie is filled with many small scenes where the sum is greater than its parts in this Thai drama. The chemistry is definitely there between the 2 characters, and although the movie reaches a predictable outcome, I appreciated the poignant scenes with the little streetgirl. Don't expect much as this is a small movie but to me was enjoyable to watch for Pom's performance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was going to be an action movie, but it's a drama. It's pretty depressing, but there's aspects of happiness in the ending. Maybe that street girl won't become a prostitute!
