      Critics Consensus

In spite of solid performances from Kate Hudson and John Krasinski, Something Borrowed is an unpleasant misfire that lives down to its title. Read critic reviews

I watched it because I like Ginnifer Goodwin's acting. But besides her being cute, it was a somewhat dumb movie.

Dialogues were badly written, filled with stock characters and predictable plot. Despite having an awesome cast, the film lost the potential of being more than just a chick flick.

Talk about committing every cliche in the book! Something Borrowed offers good performances, but the plot itself lacks any sort of originality, and everything can be predicted from the start of the movie.

Nothing particularly special about this rom com. Typical setup of one self-absorbed woman obsessing over her wedding and her maid of honor in love with the groom-to-be. Lots of random comedy mixed with grand declarations of love, mix with the great climax where everyone's secrets come to light and you've got almost every romantic comedy in creation. This film's no different. Its one saving grace is John Krasinski was hilarious with his unfiltered opinions of everything. And can I just say Kate Hudson's character absolutely annoying? Why would anyone want to be around such a tactless egomaniac? Only bother with this film if nothing else is on.
