Nothing compares to the magic and excitement of the holidays in New York City, where the streets blaze with lights, windows dazzle and a special box from Tiffany could change the course of a person's life. Or several lives. Rachel and Gary (Zoey Deutch, Ray Nicholson) are happy enough but not quite ready for that big commitment. Ethan and Vanessa (Kendrick Smith Sampson, Shay Mitchell), the perfect picture, are just about to make it official. When a simple mix-up of gifts causes all of their paths to cross, it sets off a series of twists and unexpected discoveries that lead them where they're truly meant to be. Because love -- like life -- is full of surprises, in the holiday romance Something from Tiffany's.

Critics Consensus

Tis the season for romantic misfortune, and there's still time to get Something from Tiffany's -- a little box of derivative fun that bolsters a low-carat hand of comedy and good chemistry.

Alani Vargas Chicago Reader It is pretty predictable, even if guessing what comes next in a movie isn’t your strong suit, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Something From Tiffany’s is a cozy, comforting holiday watch. Dec 17, 2022 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Deutch and Mitchell are so likable that it’s easy to root for their characters — and to root for the actors too, to someday get cast in more enduring films. Dec 9, 2022 Full Review Marya E. Gates RogerEbert.com Overlong at a mere 87 minutes, there's nothing timeless or elegant about this flop entirely composed of elements derived from much better films. Rated: 1/4 Dec 9, 2022 Full Review Jillian Chilingerian Offscreen Central Like something from Tiffany’s, this comfort romance movie is wrapped in a glossy gift box that uses style to distract from its under-baked supporting characters. Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Rebecca Johnson Film Focus Online A cute yet predictable holiday romance, Something from Tiffany's is worth watching for it's lead performance and snappy run-time, but it's lack of both festive vibes and focus on the central love story leaves a little to be desired. Rated: 3/5 Jul 24, 2023 Full Review Gabi Zietsman Channel24 (South Africa) Cute, funny and endearing, it freshens up clichés while still delivering exactly what you want from a Christmas rom-com. Wellington C A little late to watch Christmas movies, but glad I saw this one. Although it never claims to be a great movie - after all, it is a Christmas romance movie - it has good acting. Although it seems rushed at the end, it has a good pace overall. It is light, fun and has a well-balanced dose of comedy, drama and romance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Tracy B Cute Rom Dram. Strays a little too much into the drama category to be called a Rom Com but the lead actors deliver some authentic sentimental moments reminiscent in pacing, tone and location to Sleepless in Seattle. It doesn't quite hit the romance of that film, which was itself a nostalgic revival of a vintage film but it has its moments and the best friend character and young Daisy enliven it as a whole, so it's worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/06/25 Full Review James G The vast majority of holiday movies are to be avoided unless you enjoy tooth extraction. Happily, Something from Tiffany's is the opposite of the average fare. Chemistry among excellent actors, sharp dialogue, good plot make this exceptional holiday viewing. If you want a movie to lift your spirits and make you laugh this is a great choice. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/26/24 Full Review Helena K So surprised this was rated so low! Its now my one of my favorite Christmas romcoms. It was done really well Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review ROZHIN M There is hardly anything enjoyable about this movie. Unlikable characters, terrible acting, insanely unrealistic plot. It gave me physical pain, Christmas romcoms are supposed to be cozy and giggly but this is anything but. Also, how can he be a writer when his most elaborate sentence is "Uh cool." Had to stop watching on 1:05:00 mark. Surprised I even got this far. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/05/24 Full Review Anna W I'm 3 minutes in and had to turn it off because it's so bad. If you want to see the worst acting known to man, watch Zoey Deutch do a parody of Disney child acting in her first three lines in this film. I'm embarrassed for her. The directing is awkward and corny at best. Also, can female-lead production companies like Hello Sunshine stop making terrible stuff like this? It hurts talented other female filmmakers who want to get projects made. It's easy for men to "See? This is what women like to make". I have no problem with the genre, just the execution. Hire a female director next time. Reese Witherspoon only claims feminism when it's helping her and her friends. Otherwise, she'll just hire men.
