Jonathan G Definitely not a cheap thrill movie despite the ridiculous movie poster. The sharks add a high level of tension throughout the 2nd act of the movie but the main drama is definitely around the characters and their friendship, plus there’s also an interesting subplot of overcoming a past trauma. I would classify this as more of a survival drama and not really a horror flick, with that being said I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! Jennie Kermode Eye for Film Something In The Water satisfies in unexpected ways. Rated: 3.5/5 May 3, 2024 Full Review Paul Lê Bloody Disgusting The apparent objective is to show humans’ capacity to withstand the worst that life has to offer, but it would be remiss to ignore how awkwardly Something in the Water handles that message. Rated: 2/5 May 3, 2024 Full Review Chase Hutchinson Collider Not only does it feel particularly tactless when it comes to dealing with the more serious topic of trauma, the shark encounter comes far too late and delivers far too little. It's just not up to the task in either arena, ultimately sinking to the bottom. Rated: 3/10 May 3, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
