Justin Lowe Hollywood Reporter Wise's filmmaking style remains consistently engaging throughout the series as he demonstrates a characteristic ability to elicit particularly salient comments from interviewees, many of them already well-accustomed to media attention. Nov 14, 2018 Full Review Paul Parcellin Film Threat Somm 3 is an absorbing 90 minutes that will likely whet your appetite for a glass of burgundy, and if nothing else, you'll get a few tips on wines to check out. Tim D Not nearly as good as the first 2 Somm movies. Felt like I just watched a 90 minute commercial pushing a Pinot Noir producer in Santa Barbara. How many times are they gonna fawn over Raj and his glorious vineyard. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/22/22 Full Review Audience Member Great trilogy. Bring on #4. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Wines featured: Top 3 Pinots chosen by Dustin Wilson's sommeliers group: 2015 "Champans" Volany 1er Cru by Marquis d'Angerville; 2014 "Bloom's Field" by Domaine de La Cote; Bachelet Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux 2015 Transformational wines of Jancis Robinson, Fred Dame & Steven Spurrier: Comte George de Vogue Les Amoureuses 1959, Ridge Montebello 1968, 1908 Cockburn Port. 1976 Judgement of Paris https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judgment_of_Paris_(wine)#The_wines Other mentions: By Farr Tout Prés Pinot Noir 2014; Lingua Franca Mimi's Mind Pinot Noir 2015; Chacra Cincuenta y Cinco Pinot Noir 2014 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Major disappointment compared to the previous two. This movie is self-indulgent and deceptively and forcefully becomes a movie about how California Pinot Noir should be treated as seriously as Burgundy. I'd be fine with that if the movie was titled "The Judgemnt of California Pinot." A shame that the title of "Somm" is used as subterfuge to promote California Pinot. Why not name the title, "The Judgement of California Pinot?" Then there'd be no "Somm" rug to pull over the viewer's eyes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
