Indian Princess Tara (Gail Russell) and her fiancé, Gopal (Turhan Bey), venture forth into the jungle with the goal of finding animals for their newly conceived zoo. The couple soon cross paths with Rambar (Sabu), the self-styled king of the jungle, who tries to sway them from their hunt. While Rambar quickly forges a friendship with Tara, Gopal refuses to change his plans, resulting in a battle of wills between the two men as well as a skirmish with a tiger.
