Anton Bitel Little White Lies Come for the witchcraft, stay for the anticolonialism. Rated: 4/5 Jul 24, 2025 Full Review James Hanton Outtake Mag Murray’s sombre, fascinating tale is less about a teenage girl looking for payback than it is about rediscovering native heritage in the face of colonisation, prejudice, and grief. Rated: 4 / 5 Jun 24, 2024 Full Review Justine Elias The Arts Desk [Sorcery] sticks to a deliberate, even slack pace. Its real power, though, is Veliz Caileo’s quietly forceful performance. When the film’s shapeshifting mystery get murky, this young performer remains compelling. Rated: 3/5 Jun 17, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Logan D Set in late 19th-century Chiloé, the story follows Rosa, an indigenous girl whose father is murdered by German settlers. Seeking justice, she turns to Mateo, an elder linked to the Recta Provincia, a real-life indigenous organization accused of witchcraft. Full of visual storytelling and atmospheric mood, there's also a narrative slowness and limited character depth. However, the biggest appeal is Valentina Véliz, who delivers a quiet, emotionally resonant performance as Rosa. The film blends history, the supernatural, and a coming of age story that culminates in Rosa's transformation thru ritual, revenge, and spiritual awakening. The cinematography by Maria Secco is stunning, dark, brooding, and earthy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/29/25 Full Review Read all reviews
