Synopsis
Alice Fisher (Anne Shirley), a working-class girl from a small town, arrives for her first year of college. There she meets her roommates, Dotty (Barbara Read), who looks down on sororities, and Merle (Adele Pearce), who is desperate to join one. When Alice begins dating football standout Bill Loomis (James Ellison), he becomes determined to make her popular, telling the sorority girls she comes from wealth. However, Alice quickly learns she can't afford her new lifestyle.
