When Mirjana (Daria Lorenci) comes back to Croatia after time abroad as a refugee, she returns to a war-torn village. While her family members try to pick up the pieces of their lives, she surprises them by revealing that she is pregnant out of wedlock. Soon her relatives set about finding her a local husband. Things get much more complicated, however, after Mirjana gives birth to a child with distinctly Asian features, which does not sit well with her conservative father (Filip Rados).
