Nathan W 06/05/2024 It makes me so mad cause this could have been something good. You know, your basic ocean survival movie, with the added twist of trying to stay aloft in a balloon as long as possible first. Its a solid premise! But what we got was so poorly executed, in every possible way, that it was one of the worst things I've ever seen. You know, it doesn't bode well that the only star they could get was Billy Baldwin, but I actually felt a little bad for the guy. Like man, this is what he's doing now? He wasn't even in the movie all that much and now that I think about it, that whole side plot was never really explained. It had nothing to do with the main story, nothing was resolved and it really seemed like it was just there to pad the runtime. (Which it didn't need since the film was already way longer than anyone wanted it to be). The acting was laughably bad from just about everybody, to the point that I'm not even sure there was a director on set when this was filmed. (Nobody knew what was going on or how to feel about it). The script was awful, and the deliveries were even worse. The plot was uninteresting, there was no real sense of danger, and I couldn't have cared less about any of the characters even if there was. Just so it isn't all bad, I didn't hate the way it was filmed and the score wasn't terrible. In fact, it was the only thing trying to interject excitement into the story. They also made an attempt at doing some cool MacGyver-like sciency stuff, but it mostly came across as dumb.
