Synopsis
In a continuation of the 1972 film "Sounder," the Morgan family -- Nathan (Harold Sylvester), Rebecca (Ebony Wright) and children David, Earl and Josie -- once more struggle as sharecroppers in Depression-era Louisiana. Progressive teacher Camille Johnson's plans to move north galvanize the Morgans and the black community into building their own school. But, despite Nathan's continued support of David's ongoing education, Rebecca remains doubtful that it will benefit her son in the long run.
