Audience Member It has a couple of holes in the story, but it's cast does a fine job of picking up the slack. You could do worse if you're looking for a gritty family/crime flick Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/20 Full Review Audience Member I remember watching this movie on HBO when I was younger. Later in life I recorder it off t.v. and I still have it. The last I watched it was a few years ago on my b-day. I would watch it again my boyfriend loves it too. Also all star cast, good story line and what the city of Boston MA. used to look like in the 90's. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Southie is nowhere near as bad as it may look, and actually I quite enjoyed what it had to offer: family melodrama, Irish-Catholic characters, lots of profanity. The poster is definitely misleading; it's not at all a cyber-influenced action movie. Instead, it's more of a gangster tale without the excessive violence. Donnie Wahlberg and Rose McGowan give both great performances and they elevate the film beyond the boring, tonally off-center mess that it could have been. Instead, it's full of rich characters and interesting dialogue and a main character that is fun to watch, even when not-so-fun things are happening onscreen. It's not a very big movie or one you'll want to watch a million more times, but for what Southie is worth, it's serviceable and you'll probably like it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The acting excellence is ultimately cancelled out by the derivative nature of the story, which is not presented in a terribly fresh or distinctive manner. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Thought offender was the worst thing I could see this weekend, this cliched Irish mob film is terrible. Donny Wahlberg's most embarrasing episode, including New Kids on the Block Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member great movie for our hometown. great cast and great people. Steve did a great job acting in his first movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
