At once a spoof of, and loving tribute to, '70s-era visions of the future, Space Station 76 nods to 2001 in numerous ways. Go to Full Review
Christy Lemire ChristyLemire.com 10/09/2014
This may look like a wacky spoof of 1970s sci-fi, but Jack Plotnick's beautifully designed comedy-drama actually has a lot more on its mind. Go to Full Review

Daringly changes tone, and challenges expectation, without ever missing the beat. The acting and the design are consistently spot-on in their homage to the '70s, but it's smarter and deeper than the gag-fest you might expect. Go to Full Review

More of a space age melodrama reflecting nostalgia for a bygone era of storytelling in its mixture of vintage and modern tone, it's as sweet, sad as it is often laugh out loud hysterical. Go to Full Review

While enthralled with its own retro-futuristic trappings at heart, this is a pitch-black dramedy with a mean-streak. Go to Full Review

There's a lot to admire around the edges, but Plotnick's film isn't quite an out-of-this-world experience based on its own merits. Go to Full Review

ELB S @Mulholland Feb 6 This is one of the best space films I've ever seen. It's approach is light, and there is plenty of fond throwback to 70s films and the TV show Space 1999. The people aboard this space ship are leading complicated, unsatisfying lives. As the plot slowly unspools and the characters' lives slowly unravel I became aware I was watching something more more akin to a Eugene O'Neill play than a goofy sci fi spoof. See more 04/15/2020 A unique and darkly funny film (with a top-notch cast) about dysfunctional relationships and connections set in a funky 1970s take on the future. See more 11/11/2019 I really like this movie. Its a great picture of what it would be like to raise a family in space. The working classes, family issues, personal struggles, dramas between neighbors and what its like for children growing up in this environment. The acting is great, and the script is composed well. Certain areas left me with questions, but other than that I love the film! See more 11/29/2018 Not funny, and no real plot. Waste of time. See more Read all reviews
