Audience Member I thought this was a terrific film, and I can't imagine what the "rotten" critics were thinking. It's deliberately subtle, thoughtful, and trades in such a sweet and thoughtful combination of symbols (magic, pawn shops, deafness, coins, psychiatry, accidents, loss, infirmity) and realities. The film's themes are many, but perhaps the most profound one is about the relationship between living and fixing things, whether a music box or a marriage. This is a film to savor, and the performances are understated in just the right way. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A low budget cast, a story that needs bit of improvement and an unattractive end. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member "We are immortal until our work is done." - a great quote from the movie. This is another one of my great accidental picks from the Champaign Public Library. Again, the cover art has nothing to do with the movie, so if you're looking for steamy sex (I was!), don't bother watching. But if you love an intelligent story with believable, no-name actors and a philosophical twist, this is a movie well worth watching. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Kind of like amores peros but good in its own way. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
