Dennis Harvey Variety What's not to like? Well, everything -- unless you're the star, who seems convinced that this embarrassingly cloddish biopic-slash-thriller actually flatters both him and its subject. Nov 18, 2018 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com I can't recommend Speed Kills to anyone because it's not even good enough to gawk at. mark g Good God, this was awful! I mean putrid. Seemed like a parody movie you would see on Adult Swim. I guess they figured Travolta could carry it, he could not. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/24 Full Review Audience Member Some people might unsubscribe from netflix Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Food poisoning was more enjoyable than this abomination..... Doing anything will be a better use of your time... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Broken, disjointed, and some pretty bad acting all around. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly this movie is so bad it's good, it has surpassed the level of cringe to the fact that I would now categorize this as "a high camp experience" Speed Kills drinking game: take a shot every time you're confused. You will never be so hammered. I can honestly not tell you what happens in this movie despite having seen it upwards of 7 times. All I know is that John Travolta loves boats, drugs, and cheating on his wife. He's literally just straight Cal Jacobs. Not to mention the PLOT HOLES! At one point he has a come to Jesus moment with his son and it seems like they're going to get their relationship back on track and then we never see his son again, not only that- he never mentions that he has a son ever again! This movie baffles me that it's only an hour and 42 minutes: it truly feels like a 5 hour long movie. This is either a cinematic masterpiece, or it's actual dog feces and I can't tell at this point… watch it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Speed Kills was both the longest and greatest hour and 42 minutes of my life. Not once did I have any idea what was happening in the greatest way possible. People leaving bad reviews don't understand the gem this movie is. It's camp. It's fresh. It's indie. It feels like it was produced in the early 2000s despite somehow it being released in 2018. The terrible green screen and CGI and-unfortunately, acting- is part of the experience! I wouldn't be the person I am today if this movie didn't exist. I have no idea what happened in this movie, I've watched it five different times and still can't remember a single plot line except he likes boats and cheats on his wife. Also he gifts his son a horse racing business for some reason?? And then we never see him again?? So many plot holes and I LOVE it. 10/10, yet would not recommend.
