Alex Behan Stuff.co.nz Equal parts bizarre and brilliant. Oct 25, 2021 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz [Florian] Habicht's disarming interview technique and genuine love for what the workers at the theme park are achieving lifts this into a happily surreal and very personal realm. Apr 5, 2021 Full Review Andrew F. Peirce The Curb Spookers is hilarious, heartbreaking, exciting, frightening and important. This is what cinema is about - telling stories that you didn't know existed, and subverting what the traditional narrative of those stories would usually be. Apr 4, 2020 Full Review Victor Stiff Goomba Stomp Spookers raises a fascinating point: are we blissfully inattentive to offensive mental health characterizations? Mar 30, 2020 Full Review Andrew Marshall Starburst Overall, Spookers is a film whose constituent parts don't quite fit together, but nevertheless remains an eminently watchable piece of documentary filmmaking. Rated: 7/10 May 15, 2018 Full Review Siena Yates New Zealand Herald At just 83 minutes, it's an easily digestible piece that shows the scary monsters of Spookers through a much more human lens. Hugo A New Zealand's scream park opens its doors to the backstage. An opportunity for viewers and visitors to explore the park and the workers' stories behind the curtains. An entertaining documentary. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/24/22 Full Review Audience Member There were a bit too many sad stories but some cool people for sure Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A documentary about the workers in the largest haunted house in the southern hemisphere. The people really go all out and take the time/effort to get into their horror zone and also re their application of make up to be scary monsters, zombies, etc. They are all lonely people (which is sad to hear) hence they really look forward to this work. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Very heartwarming, charming, and enjoyable film that’s great for the Halloween season.
