College students Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Faith (Selena Gomez), Brit (Ashley Benson) and Cotty (Rachel Korine) are short of the cash they need for a spring-break trip, so they rob a diner and head down to Florida. However, the police soon break up the party and arrest them. The curvaceous quartet are unexpectedly bailed out by a drug dealer and aspiring rap artist named Alien (James Franco). Soon after, three of the four gal pals decide to join Alien in a life of crime.

There are some interesting moments and great shots in this film, but the whole thing never fully came together for me. Harmony Korine could've used a bit more structure to make this more coherent.

First and foremost, I hated this film. It's morbidly mortifying and above all, polarizing. The cover is a little misleading. It's not what I expected at all, since I went into it cold. Having said all this, I understand both sides to what people think. I understand why people absolutely hate it, and I also understand how it can be viewed as a masterpiece. If you can look past all the cheesecake shit, you'll find it to be a superb cautionary tale, that's literally telling you to NOT LIVE LIKE ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS. I think it's a horror movie if anything to be honest, because it is just plain scary to see these people do the things they do. If there are real people in this world that actually do this shit (which there are, and I'm not even talking about the crimes), and say it's the "good life" and that they're "finding themselves", then I'm sorry, but your life is f**ked, and it's extremely sad and depressing that this is how our youth are literally wasting themselves. Haha! 67%.

SO I FINALLY WATCHED THIS MOVIE IN FULL. IT SEEMED FOR ME AS "EUPHORIA''S PRE ERA IF YOU WILL. NOT WITH THAT MUCH CINEMATOGRAPHY EXCELLENCE OF COURSE. IT FELT PRETTY AMATEURISH TBH. A GROUP OF COLLEGE GIRLS WERE DYING FOR A SPRING BREAK BUT THEY HAD NO MONEY TO THEIR NAMES AND THEY DECIDED TO ROB A LOCAL CAFETERIA AND IT JUST GOES DOWNHILL FROM THERE. ENDING KINDA PISSED ME OFF. I WAS EXPECTING A MORE MEANINGFUL ENDING AND BECAUSE OF THAT YOU'RE LEFT WITH NOTHING. THE MOVIE IS VERY MOODY, GETS YOU INTO THAT TEENAGER MINDSET WHEN YOU'RE BORED OF ANY KIND OF ROUTINE, SEEING SAME HOUSES, SAME PPL EVERY DAY. BUT THEIR DESPERATION TO MAKE A SWEET ESCAPE AT LEAST FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS GETS THEM INTO TROUBLE. NOT VERY REALISTIC ENDING.
