Spring Breakers blends stinging social commentary with bikini cheesecake and a bravura James Franco performance.

Richard L Basically an extended music video, from the non-existent plot to the shoddy direction, terrible camerawork and trashy lighting. Its only saving grace is Vanessa Hudgens, but I'd rather be watching The Princess Switch. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Nick B This movie is peak childhood Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review Raiodesol S A very different idea that is very well executed visually with its subjetive lighting, shots and sometimes dialogue. But it fails to deliver depth and empathy towards the character and eventually to the plot. It's fascinating to see but when not accompanied with depth it becomes a bland story. This movie is amazing for TikTok or YouTube shorts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/02/24 Full Review Matthew H Every character is unlikable. Showcases the worst parts of human nature and American culture in a way that's reminiscent of your friend flexing something he thinks is cool but in reality makes you feel bad for him Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Sara This movie is pure genius. How often do you get to watch James Franco suck hard on a gloc for a solid 5 minutes? Their court scene portrayals are spot on for what we all would like to see go down in the court of law. Must watch. Two thumbs way way up. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Jaden W This was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. It seems to just be a compilation of James Franco's fantasies and montages of girls moaning. Not really anything else to say other than what is up with the colored artificial lighting at all hours of the day? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Adam Nayman The Ringer Whether [it] is a great movie or an uncommonly accomplished bit of fraudulence is an eye of the beholder thing, but there’s something to be said for a film that somehow captures and enshrines an era’s attention-deficit aesthetic... Mar 25, 2023 Full Review Brittani Nichols Autostraddle Is it social commentary on today's young adult culture? I don't see how. Is it satire? I surely wish it was. Instead this was an earnest try at something...I don't know what. Jun 15, 2021 Full Review J. Hoberman The New York Review of Books Spring Breakers is a crowd-pleaser, although given its confounding creepiness, the crowd it pleases most is surely the forty-year-old filmmaker's intellectual fan base. Mar 8, 2019 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand It’s Bonnie and Bonnie and Bonnie and Clyde with Day-Glo color, teen exhibitionism, and gangsta street violence, with a pop music score and a hip-hop mixmaster soundtrack and editing style. May 6, 2023 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Its juxtaposition of sound and imagery is stunning.
