Matt Brunson Creative Loafing Everyone on screen seems to be having such a good time, it's a shame that viewers of this clunky effort weren't afforded the same degree of entertainment. Rated: 2/4 Jul 3, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

alan g Horrible remake of a famous well loved original. Egotistical singers who think they can act. Watch the John Wayne dated version. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Chicha Z I dont like giving negative reviews. A lot of good actors in this movie. I dont know why this movie has a cheesy feel. Can't put finger on what's not clicking. Maybe casting, acting, how it's written...? Just can't get into it....doesn't feel real. Kinda like TOMBSTONE w big actors, Elliot, Russell, Kilmer etc.... I never understood the hype. Big actors, beautiful women, everything So clean and perfect....and everyone walks around with these COOL LINES OR CLICHE LINES.....PEOPLE DIDNT TALK LIKE THAT THEN OR NOW......IT NEVER FELT GENUINE OR REAL. THOUGHT IT WAS CHEESY. THE STORY LINE DIDNT MAKE SENSE EITHER. OH WELL, TO EACH THEIR OWN. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/06/23 Full Review Joseph H It's a Western, with the most famous group of Country music stars. What could you not like? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this one as it was a good story and quite a good cast of cowboys Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Just having those music legends at one production effort is a treat to enjoy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting cast is waster in this plodding, low-budget remake of the classic John Ford film. The original film was about a stagecoach full of disparate characters traveling though dangerous Apache territory. This remake is essentially the same story, but casts country music stars in the lead roles; Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings (who every time he spoke, I kept waiting for a freeze frame and for him to say something about them Duke Boys). There are a few old Hollywood actors in the film like Anthony Newley, Anthony Franciosa, and some of the moment actors like John Schneider, Merritt Butrick and Mary Crosby. Directed by the usually reliable Ted Post, this film's dull pace really kills it. Not worth watching unless your a fan of the lead actors. Cash was the main reason I wanted to watch the film, and he's okay in it, but I did forget how good an actor Nelson can be and actually made me want to rematch his performance in Michael Mann's "Thief."
