Sam 01/27/2024 Must see amazing ! Ya Allah yah Muhammad yah Ali God bless Mahmoud Abdul Rauf See more Dominic T 01/21/2024 Yes, I have watched and enjoyed the movie. I have covered a lot about Mahmoud Abdul Rauf on my website. You can check this article at https://thesportiess.com/2023/10/28/mahmoud-abdul-rauf-unveiling-legacy/ See more David F 03/30/2023 This doc made basketball exciting to me for the first time ever. Abdul-Raul took on the whole country single-handedly, at a time when the country wasn't yet ready for it. His face should be on the dollar bill. See more 02/27/2023 Amazing documentary on an amazing man See more 02/26/2023 I saw it on Showtime. Excellent documentary, and a powerful and inspiring story. I see awards coming. See more PETER W 02/19/2023 The first half of this documentary outlines how Chris Jackson (later Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf) developed into an outstanding basketball player while at the same time dealing with Tourettes Syndrome. In the second half we learn of his conversion to Islam and then his decision not to stand for the National Anthem. While he was initially suspended by the Denver team he was allowed to play again after agreeing to stand. However, Denver later traded him to Sacramento due to many angry fans. After playing for the Kings, Abdul-Rauf then got into trouble after interviews in which he made political statements that were critical of American politics and when he denied Arab involvement in 9/11. He was later let go by the Kings and the documentary alleges that he was unfairly blackballed. The whole tone of the doc is to make him a victim, but it seems that many of his problems stemmed from making statements without consulting with advisors who could caution him regarding the nature of these statements. Since this wasn't brought out at all, the documentary maker, in my opinion, did not offer a balanced view of the situation. See more Read all reviews
