An intimate portrait of alienated youth living in Clinton, a small-town suburb of New York, this documentary follows a group of friends as they deal with the tedium of everyday life through anti-social behavior, including drug abuse and crime. Two of the subjects -- the filmmaker Josh Koury's younger brother, Adam, and Adam's best friend, Josh -- are shown to have an especially tight bond, until the latter pushes things too far. This serves as the catalyst for the pair slowly growing apart.

The longer one watches this determinedly ragged portrait of blue-collar teenage desperation ... the more one gets absorbed in the utter unbridled nihilism of its 'characters.' Go to Full Review
