Jake Cole Slant Magazine Here, the TNG cast gets to show off their longstanding chemistry and further develop their characters. Apr 5, 2023 Full Review Jay Carr Boston Globe It's easily one of the best in the series -- the best, in fact, since Leonard Nimoy and the old Enterprise crew saved the whales in "Star Trek IV." Apr 26, 2018 Full Review Lisa Schwarzbaum Entertainment Weekly In zooming out from Picard's glinty eyeball, this eighth feature film from the Trek factory displays a zippy new energy and a sleek, confident style fully independent of its predecessors. Rated: B+ Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Star Trek: First Contact is not merely a great Star Trek film. This is a great film, period. Rated: 4/4 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review James Kendrick Q Network Film Desk remains one of the high points in the overall Trek film franchise, an engaging and suspenseful melding of science fiction, horror, and the kind of high drama that comes close to earning all the Moby Dick references Rated: 3/4 Jun 19, 2023 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Far and away the finest of the TNG crop. Les N I must have enjoyed it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Charlie M Definitely a better Star Trek movie, with some real character and emotion, and better action. Still sometimes slow, but pretty well executed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review DE S Surprising, funny, paced well, and full on Next Gen Star Trek. One of the best space, sci-fi movies of the 90s. Picard and crew at their best…until Season 3 Picard. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/24 Full Review Sean E This is still my favorite of the next generation cast movies to this day. Watching this movie, the first time my youngest son, was inspired to write at 10 years old a science fiction story. He’s now in college and even though seeing it in the theaters in 1996 I still will always remember watching this for the first time with my youngest son when he was seven years old and 2012. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review A S The best of the Next Generation movies. Good: Acting, Directing, SFX, score, story. Bad: Jokes Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/25/24 Full Review Julian L This is an awesome movie but has a lot of plot holes. If the Borg had time travel, why not go back in time and assimilate it in the 1980s or something before they attacked Earth to face the fleet? How can the Enterprise beam aboard the Defiant crew while the Enterprise's shields are up? If you don't want to shoot the plasma coolant tanks by risking to hit the warp core, what is the plan(which isn't said or implied.)?And most of all, why is Picard all violent and vengeful when he already got over his grudge against the Borg and he's all understanding of life and stuff? Otherwise, it's epic and awesome! I always wanted to see the time vulcans and humans met since I first saw Star Trek! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Read all reviews
