While it’s now unavoidably and unfortunately canon, let’s hope Section 31 was just a stumble on the way to better and bolder things. If this is what the Federation’s underbelly really looks like, I’d rather it stayed in the dark.

I came here to watch Michelle Yeoh kick butt, and kick butt, she did. So, I got my money’s worth. I love Georgiou, the good and the bad versions, so being able to see her again was a delight.

A stylish and interesting twist on any previous Star Trek movies, with intriguing characters that make you want to know more about them. There are brief trips into the past of the Teran Emperor that help shape why their character is so rich and complicated. The film was originally to be a series, where each character could have been explored in far greater depth. The film did leave me wanting to discover much more about each of the characters, which a series would have provided.
