Chris V They managed to wreck a rather interesting franchise, more than likely from selling off the IP right to unnoteworthy studios and companies. The first movie was good, the second was passable, and this one just put a nail in the coffin of the franchise for a while. The overall story was half decent, worthy I'd say of at least 3 and 1/2 stars but the acting, CGI, and execution were in poor, poor taste. One would expect them to have done better than the first 2 yet as a bizarre turn of events they somehow made the arachnids less real and more computerized than the first 2 movies that were released in a time where CGI was literal garbage compared to 2008. It was literally a blocky 3d rendering made by a freshman in college. Whoever approved of the shoddy work and release either had no talent for hiring good people to work on the graphic design that had already been good enough in the first one. Or just wanted the money that would certainly come anyway from the franchise's name and history in exchange for a literal desecration of the IP. The characters are even less appealing than in the 2nd movie considering that; that one went for over-the-top and unnecessary action, that just made them all seem ridiculous and stupid. This piece grounded the IP to a halt, it held no class in either of these movies with their nudity the first one made it seem more natural as if the humans were more enlightened when it came to not just being attracted by the physical aspect of things. It's sadly in my personal opinion a money grab not worth watching or even including as part of the cannon. Which I hope is in the process of one day being redone by more professional and qualified people that will respect the IPs and their audiences. Sadly if it is in the works, Hollywood's current outpace is worrisome but it could be perfect as their brainwashed minds are exemplary for interpreting a civilization that has upheld an Authoritarian grip on its society. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review Adrian M Well, at least they got their lead actor back, so that's something, and the idea of a God bug was interesting, adding a bit to the themes of the mind control bugs from Starship Troopers 2, only bigger. Wait: isn't marauder a unit type in StarCraft 2? And aren't there - yeah, okay, so StarCraft isn't quite as original as I thought it was. I can even remember bits out of Futurama which copied this - and DC comics. If you're copied a lot, you're probably pretty good, and this was definitely better than the second one, but, as this is still a sequel, it wasn't as good as the first. Not too bad though, and I gave it 7 out of 10. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/08/23 Full Review Jeremy S If you like starship troopers then this instalment is worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review Chris M The first movie the dystopian fascism was underplayed. It was there but it was subtle. It was more about the characters and bug fights. In the sequels it was as subtle as the message in a "Pureflix" movie. Is every crime a hanging offense, plus in the first movie it was lethal injection. When did it change to hanging? The way the sequels paint this world, you almost wanna root for the monster bugs. Story wise the twist wasn't that hard to figure out. But overall, it still delivers on the bug fighting and classic characters are cool. Plus, I love the mech battle suits. It's far from perfect but fun enough to enjoy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/22 Full Review Audience Member It recaptures some of the original feel of the first movie, not as good but still enjoyable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Quite a noticeable step-up from the first sequel surprisingly, as Johnny Rico's return boosts the character department, the expansion of the lore is better established this time around and the script is less simplistic and more engaging despite not avoiding cliches. On the other hand, the first act is totally unremarkable, the dialogues are often risible and the fixation on religion towards the finale is tiring and distracting. An inessential mixed bag that cannot hold a candle to the original. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

It is like the first movie a war movie, but with the Nazis as the heroes this time round.
