      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It's uneven and occasionally somewhat aimless, but Starsky & Hutch benefits from Stiller and Wilson's chemistry and a surprisingly warm-hearted script.

Dylan N It's funny. It's hard to gauge the criticism of this movie as I haven't seen the original TV show. But I think the movie stands on its own just fine and is very funny. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Christopher J it was ok but not super funny i was pretty dissapointed Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review Farah R Although I'm unfamiliar with the 70s TV series, this movie reboot of Starsky and Hutch was funny and entertaining, albeit silly and predictable. Wilson and Stiller's chemistry makes for a great buddy cop comedy. I liked that they brought back the OG actors for a cameo, too. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/08/23 Full Review cbcguy Kind of drags at parts but still very entertaining and enjoyable. The cameos were a fun surprise. Definitely rewatchable Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Giorgio S It's fun but not as much as otherStiller Wilson comedies. Vince Vaughn is preetty good and he steals every scene he's in. Snoop Dogg is fun and there are some nice jokes in it Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review Gareth v Neither overly funny or having great action scenes, this movie comes across as an ordinary attempt to cash in on an iconic tv show. Disappointing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

      J. R. Jones Chicago Reader Stiller and Wilson are still hilarious as the supercool detectives–there hasn't been a comedy duo this good since John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. Jun 29, 2022 Full Review David Ansen Newsweek Snoop Dogg, as a superfly snitch, and Vince Vaughn, as a drug lord, are wasted in obvious supporting roles. It's harmless fun--and too lazy to be more. Mar 13, 2018 Full Review Antonia Quirke London Evening Standard At a time when the Hollywood studios seem locked in a competition to see who can make and distribute the most witless spoofs, pastiches and tributes, along comes one that is genuinely funny. Dec 20, 2017 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault Amiable enough, and there are a couple of genuinely hilarious moments. But guys as smart and witty as Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are just wasting themselves on ’70s TV nostalgia. Rated: C Sep 19, 2022 Full Review Glenn McConnell Stuff.co.nz This is silly, and it knows it. Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy A hit-and-miss adaptation of the popular TV series.
