Started thinking of what were good 'erotic' movies after the pretty lousy picks in RTs best erotic films. This is a watchable film for the story based on the letters of Heloise and Abelard. Kim Tompsons glorious red mane and delicate features are lovely and the erotic scenes are sexy and reasonably regular. But the looks of the attractive characters make the intellectual foreplay fairly exciting as their romance builds to the point where they can't keep their clothes on anymore.

Saw this movie quite a while ago and was impressed with how good it was. I was really surprised that it hadn't received more critical attention. The cast was excellent and the drama engrossing with very medieval attitudes about how scholars and women were treated in the Middle Ages being very accurately portrayed.

Um bom filme, com uma simples e Ã³tima direÃ§Ã£o de arte e com uma trama que, embora seja episÃ³dica, nos interessa pelo teor e fidelidade histÃ³rica (apesar que poderia, e deveria, focar-se muito mais na Filosofia Medieval... que eu tanto odeio). Pena que o diretor Clive Donner, ao perceber que pouco criou durante os dois primeiros atos, passa a investir em mise en scÃ¨nes desnecessÃ¡rias ao longo do ato final.
