It's been several years since Stitch (Chris Sanders), the result of eccentric Dr. Jookiba's (David Ogden Stiers) "Experiment 626," landed on Earth and befriended a girl, Lilo (Daveigh Chase). Now Stitch, Lilo and the doctor live in Hawaii with Lilo's sister, Nani (Tia Carrere). But their lives are turned upside down by the arrival of Capt. Gantu (Kevin Michael Richardson), who kidnaps Jookiba to find out the location of his other 625 experiments. It's up to Lilo and Stitch to save Jookiba.

David Nusair Reel Film Reviews The movie's geared-solely-towards-kids approach is evident in virtually all of its attributes... Rated: 1/4 Feb 4, 2016 Full Review Tim Brayton Antagony & Ecstasy Disney had to call it something, and "Pilot Episode for an Upcoming TV Series That We're Shamelessly Going to Make You Pay for Separately" is a lot of words for a DVD spine. Rated: 5/10 Mar 14, 2013 Full Review Brian Webster Apollo Guide Less substantial than the original, but still quality family entertainment that's light-years ahead of most of its competition for the eyes and hearts of pint-sized viewers. Rated: 73/100 Oct 14, 2003 Full Review Bill Chambers Film Freak Central The film's brevity is due to sacrifices in character, not plot, and that's a shame, since it wasn't exactly the chaos of Lilo & Stitch's narrative that made it so ultimately charming Rated: 2/4 Aug 24, 2003 Full Review David Cornelius eFilmCritic.com It is missing a great deal of the original movie's heart... This one's more sitcom-y, less endearing, a little bland. Rated: 2/5 Aug 23, 2003 Full Review Read all reviews

Cameron H I thought this film was a much better sequel than “Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch.” It had a stronger story about Stitch struggling to fit in and wanting to belong with others like him, similar to Tarzan. I loved seeing Captain Gantu return and he even had lots of fun, humorous moments. Dr. Hämsterviel was a hilarious and entertaining villain. The animation quality was noticeably cheaper than the original feature film, and it was intended to serve as the pilot for “Lilo & Stitch: the Series.” Overall, there was a good amount of humor, action, and heart packed into the very short runtime. It’s enough to keep younger kids entertained. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/26/25 Full Review Stephen C Unfunny in 1 hour and 4 minutes!!!!!!!! Too short of a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/25 Full Review Audience Member These “Critics” don’t no what they’re talking about it’s an awesome movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/08/25 Full Review Joel L I wouldn't call this a "Movie" since this is like a extended 1 hour pilot for Lilo & Stitch The Series, but I did enjoy it, I like how we met more characters like the other 625 Experiments and Dr Hamsterviel, the animation was a bit off and different despite having a budget of a tv show but it still manages to capture the emotion. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/25 Full Review Bo F I have a bit or a soft spot for this one but it isn't good very short and a set up Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/25/25 Full Review Dino G This is yet another example when critics gave an overall pretty good film a terrible review. This film feels slightly better than Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2005) as a sequel, due to it's storyline being more similar to the first film.
