He recruits Parisian dress model Nicole Picot (Kay Francis) to help him fool potential investors by wearing an expensive dress when accompanying him to lavish gatherings. Their successful scheme rakes in a fortune. But when a suave diplomat (Ian Hunter) steals Nicole's heart, her partner in crime struggles to balance his lies before they tumble like a house of cards.
