When her ex-husband gets custody of their daughter, former FBI office assistant Erin Grant (Demi Moore) needs money to fight the legal case to get her child back. As a result, she takes a job dancing at the Eager Beaver strip club in Miami, where she befriends an imposing bouncer named Shad (Ving Rhames). Unfortunately, she also becomes an object of obsession for politician David Dilbeck (Burt Reynolds), who gets what he wants through charm and violence -- and what he wants is Erin.

Carl Hiaasen’s novel Striptease was laugh-out-loud funny throughout; Andrew Bergman’s screen adaptation fails on almost every level. Demi Moore does her best with a flat script as Erin Grant, a former FBI employee who is forced to become a stripper in order to get custody of her daughter, which seems sort of counterintuitive in retrospect. And it turns out, she’s actually a pretty decent stripper, too. Rumer Willis, Moore’s real-life daughter, plays the stripper’s daughter and is actually the only other reason to watch this disaster. Ving Rhames essentially plays himself, Armand Assante seems half asleep and mumbles through every scene, and Burt Reynolds gives what is probably his worst performance ever as a corrupt and immoral congressman. This clearly falls into the “what were they thinking” category of movie bombs.

Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, o filme tem uma história fraca, não tem personagens bons, mas a coisa que salva o filme foi justamente as cenas de strip-tease no filme e melhora um pouco o filme, por que de resto é desinteressante e chato.

This movie was done perfectly because of the ever amazing, gorgeous and great Demi Moore. Talk about stunning. Is it cheesy? Is it dumb? Yes. But so is Showgirls yet everyone has come around to that. Moore was ahead of her time. Moore definitely carried.
