Critics Consensus

Striptease can't decide whether it is a lurid thriller or a sexy satire - which becomes a moot point as it proves disastrously incapable of pulling either off.

Chris Peachment Daily Telegraph (UK) I don't know if the lawyers are currently scanning the contracts for Striptease in order to find out what went wrong in the small print, but someone got badly conned; and that someone is mostly the audience. Lanfranco C A banal story in a banal movie Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/24 Full Review Sams K she's great...I mean...she really is. 90% of this movie are hot girls dancing. But there's something good in the script. Worth a try. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/23/24 Full Review Dinos K She is bad actress with a perfect *ss Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Elvis D Bastante menospreciada en su momento, Striptease es una película que nos hace recordar aquellos días cuando Demi Moore rompía corazones. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Michael O It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's one of the worst movies ever made. Demi Moore is a divorced mom who loses custody of her daughter when a corrupt judge sides with her deadbeat ex-husband. To get her daughter back, she goes to work at the Eager Beaver gentleman's club. This is the only saving grace of the film, seeing Demi get on stage and show off her beautiful, buffed body. The story line and dialog are both sophomoric. It was a shame good celluloid had to be wasted to make this film. I've given it three stars because it is definitely a movie for guys who like movies. If there's nothing good on TV, call out for pizza and sandwiches, get some beer. Then, watch Demi take her clothes off. Not a bad deal. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Jack B Striptease is definitely an underrated film. If anything this movie is too much like real life. Moore, Reynolds and the others did a fine job. Demi Moore is a great actress. I don't understand why it got such low rating and particularly when you compare it to other really dumb movies.
