When the Littles go to an orphanage to adopt a new family member, a charming young mouse named Stuart is chosen. While George is initially unwelcoming to his new brother, the family cat, Snowbell, is even less enthusiastic about having a mouse as his "master" and plots to get rid of him. Against these difficulties, Stuart resolves to face them with as much pluck, love and courage as he can muster. In doing so, he shows his beloved new family that great things can truly come in small packages.

Blu B Dec 1 It's not bad but I don't know it feels like something is "off" the entire time I'm watching it. This should have the makings of a classic film but it just falls short it feels like. I think it may have been a mistake to do this in live action and not animated. The acting is just....ok. It feels like it's a kind of comedic deadpan delivery but also like not trying and lazy at the same time. Like they don't care and know this is stupid. Especially whenever they talk to Staurt. I'm not sure if it's because they are acting against nothing but it just feels off. Fox's voice is great though and the most memorable thing along with the solid soundtrack. The soundtrack carries this for me at points when everything else is just off. Everything else about it is half decent honestly. First off, the whole setup is a bit farfetched and I feel like this may have been much more believable in a animated setting. The CGI isn't bad. Sometimes it looks great and other times it just looks shotty. The talking cat mouths just look off and again it's so weird seeing a live action cats but a CGI'd mouse with real humans. While the story makes perfect sense, is easy to follow, filled with harmless humor, and has a sweet timeless message, it just feels like it just never fully gets developed. Everyone just gets introduced with no real backstory. Than once he arrives home it just feels like it's a mix of being mudded, stuff just happening, and things not being developed enough. Why they would bring him home to a cat is kind of beyond me the more I think about it. Stuart and the human family when they get seperated feels like two seperate stories. And again it all just feels a bit rushed. I'm not sure if things got cut to trim it down but it would'nt shock me. The storytelling, acting, choice to do this live action, and some farfetched setup moments all kind of hold back what should be a sure fire classic in the making. I guess if your a die hard fan of any actors here or the source material maybe check this out and it does make a good harmless kids film. But most could skip this and find this message better explored in other family classics.
