Mike J Sonic is a lord lord king king evil evil king lord king king lord king evil lord Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/29/22 Full Review Indian c Dear Karan Johar, It's nearly impossible to get me to hate a movie with a passion, but your film "Student Of The Year" managed to accomplish this inhuman task. I won't discuss the incomprehensible plot, the disgusting musical numbers, or the atrocious characters (which I wanted to punch in the face more than anything), because I can let the other reviews do that for me. Congratulations, dear enemy for life. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/22 Full Review Audience Member Alia deserved a better debut. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is a shit No college rules no study only entertainment WTF Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review yash b Of all of the Karan Johar movies, I've seen thus far, "Student of the Year" is the most focused on just being entertaining, but it also is the weakest from the acclaimed filmmaker. I didn't hate this movie and I honestly found it to be somewhat enjoyable and relatively heartfelt. The characters in the movie have strong personalities and are both likable and flawed. The main plot of the movie revolves around a competition and I honestly had a hard time figuring out who I was rooting for because both of the two main characters had done things I liked and disliked. That being said, the plot of this movie is completely ridiculous. It has one of those storylines that I definitely had to tell myself that I was watching a completely fictional movie in order to find enjoyment in it. The movie moves at a decent pace for the most part, excluding some portions in the middle where it starts to drag. Also, this movie tries too hard to connect with young people at times, to the point where it felt over the top and somewhat cringe-worthy at times. Despite the flaws this movie has, I honestly still thought it was enjoyable. It's not meant to be taken too seriously and once I accepted that I found it to be harmless fun with a good heart. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It was a good movie overall songs where great! Don't like the random cuts in the movies and ending was unsatisfactory. Lisa Tsering Hollywood Reporter Not only is Student of the Year cinematically stale, but it's also politically dishonest. Rated: 3/5 May 10, 2019 Full Review Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express The trouble with Student Of The Year is that it doesn't even feel as if it is trying for novelty, despite the brand-new talent it showcases. Rated: 2/5 Mar 22, 2019 Full Review Raedita Tandan Filmfare Karan deserves brownie points for a brilliant supporting cast. May 10, 2019 Full Review Priya Joshi Digital Spy Student of the Year is a merry jaunt that allows us brief respite from the rigours of daily life to take a fun frolic in Johar's rainbow-hued, Prada world, where the beautiful people reign. Rated: 3/5 Oct 30, 2017 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters Not every film needs to have meaning, or a larger message, but it does need a story. Student of the Year is all about the clothes, the brawn and the glamour, but not much else. Jun 23, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
