A pretty fun street walking and talking ride through early 80s NY with the graffiti tagged and artists who have the city its look. Not much has changed forty years on for better or worse. Watched on Amazon Prime.

We gave this other 'list of shame' title a spin after watching the fictionalized version of similar events: Wild Style, and I have to say, I really dug this one as well. This documentary does focus a bit more on the graffiti side of things, but features some great interviews. Well worth a look if you have the chance.

As far as the graffiti and hip hop culture is concerned, Style Wars is the beginning to anyone's education. One of the defining moments in both cultures, Style Wars represents the birth of a culture which is still growing to this day. A must see classic if you love street art, graffiti or hip hop.
