I am sure many Asian girls, when this came out, felt the same way about this movie as I did about [i]Girls Just Wanna Have Fun[/i]. This film is not for everyone and definitely has its cheese factor about it but is enjoyable. These teenage girls are innocent and all dressed up in schoolgirl outfits and duel weapons of children’s toys (yo-yo's and marbles). Wait just a minute before all you guys rush out to rent this if you are looking for uniformed young girls kicking butt. I should warn you the girls lack sex appeal and I think you would be highly disappointed if you were thinking of watching it sololy for the 'thrill'. Some scenes of Suka bring to mind images from Kill Bill just in the manner of the weapons and the way she looks as she slowly twirls that yo-yo. The movie is enjoyable if you can get into this genre of movie and remember that it was made in the late '80's. Sukeban Deka: The Movie was made after a TV show and starred the same female lead.
