Can't believe this didn't get higher ratings as I find it funny as hell. Have seen it many times & keep laughing. Candy is terrific as are a few others in the cast.

Respectfully, Summer Rental never received the recognition it deserved. Carl Reiner took us on a hilarious adventure that perfectly captured the spirit of the 80s. Long car rides to summer destinations by the shore were a familiar reality for many families, and John Candy delivered an unforgettable performance that brought that experience to life. The supporting cast was perfectly chosen, each adding their own layers of humor to the story. And of course, nothing beats ending the summer with a sweet victory. Noellie, Aspiring screenwriter

Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são mais ou menos, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

As a movie, it's far from perfect and it's not John Candy's best work but there are plenty of laughs, albeit more on the low-brow side. It's more of a nostalgia watch for me.
