While her actress sister, Abigail (Gloria DeHaven), roams with a stock theater company, country girl Jane (Judy Garland) stays home in rural Connecticut tending the family farm. Jane sees red when Abigail returns unannounced, stock company in tow, with plans to convert the family's barn into a venue for the troupe's musical revue. But after Abigail's beau, Joe (Gene Kelly), sells his car to buy Jane a new tractor, the farm girl softens and even gets bitten by the performing bug herself.

It may not be the most innovative or exciting of Kelly’s films, but it’s an unpretentious movie that delights in the pure pleasure of musical entertainment, from the outright silly to the romantically sincere.

Movie is fun, energetic, with amazing choreography and one great song, Get Happy. Hot 1950's ladies offer lots of eye candy. In a lot of scenes, Judy Garland looks healthier with more weight on her bones. But to me, the ending is too abrupt, but understandable knowing the troubled production and Garland's drug problems.
